first thing i did after 3 buses and 2 and a half days behind windows in the desert was clog rodolfos toilet. bienvenidos a chile!
i stumbled across this copperhead in west texas last week. we were at this old mine shaft checking things out, taking photos, really in awe of everything around us. really felt like we were out there. so im climbing up the rocks and old fallen bricks going from mine to mine and i see this tail and i swear to you the first thing i thought is fuck yeah i found a rubber lizard. you guys realize i was born in manhattan right? so i get close to it, and i think fuck yeah it has a plastic rattler on it. i was a second away from picking it up. i was inches from it. if it didnt move the tiniest bit right there and then i might of grabbed it. i will say it never rattled though, i dont know what thats about. so then like a true city slicker i realize what it is and i yell for the guys to come check it out. turned my back to it and everything. i must say though i got a little shook afterwards when i actually thought about what id do if it bit me. we had 30 miles of dirt road in every direction. we stayed out in the desert for another night and a day and i got myself to believe they were everywhere. steve marino photo.
